LASER World of PHOTONICS has new Exhibition Director

Munich. Effective January 1, 2013, Katja Stolle is the new Exhibition Director for LASER World of PHOTONICS 2013. The International Trade Fair for Optical Technologies takes place at the Messe München trade-fair center from May 13 – 16. Claudia Sixl, former Exhibition Director for the Munich trade fair, has been named Exhibition Group Director for the global portfolio of photonics and analysis fairs.

Norbert Bargmann, Deputy CEO of Messe München GmbH and responsible for the Business Unit for New Technologies: “I am pleased to introduce Katja Stolle, an employee with a great deal of experience, as the new Exhibition Director for LASER World of PHOTONICS. Ms. Stolle has been part of the LASER World of Photonics Team at Messe München since 2006 and has many years of experience in the exhibition management sector.” Ms. Stolle (32) also served as Interim Exhibition Director for the trade fair analytica 2012, which allowed her to gather valuable experience in the management of large-scale international exhibitions. “We are convinced that the fair will be in a perfect position to meet future challenges under the leadership of Ms. Stolle,” explained Bargmann.

Bargmann also took advantage of the opportunity to honor the successes of former Exhibition Director Claudia Sixl, who was named Exhibition Group Director for LASER World of PHOTONICS and the analytica fairs in the spring of 2012. “Claudia Sixl had a major impact on LASER World of PHOTONICS, having served as Exhibition Director since 2001. We are pleased that Ms. Sixl will continue to promote the global growth of our photonics and analysis network at the strategic level.” Ms. Sixl has been employed at Messe München International since 1995. As the Exhibition Group Director in the Business Unit for New Technologies, she will be responsible for the strategic orientation of the international network of LASER World of PHOTONICS fairs in Munich, China and India, as well as the portfolio of analytica fairs in Germany, China, India and Vietnam.

As part of reorganizing the Business Unit for New Technologies at Messe München, responsibilities for the LASER World of PHOTONICS network of fairs were reassigned and the Exhibition Group was expanded to include an additional exhibition-management team. By making this change, Messe München is taking the growth of its international network of photonics events into account.
